Over the past two seasons, the stars of Discovery Channel’s breakout street racing show Street Outlaws have loaded up and taken their title of “Fastest Street Raced Cars in the Country” on the road to face groups of street racers from many areas of the nation. At one of their stops in California, they ran upon the all-wheel-drive turbo pickup of Izzy Valenzuela from California. Valenzuela, who raced – and lost to – Derek in his silver Camaro, is alleged to have been recently involved in a tragic street racing incident in which the car he was racing against lost control and struck a group of spectators, killing two and injuring another. This, as reported by TMZ.
While Valenzuela, who stands accused of driving the GTR seen in video alongside the Mustang that actually lost control, is facing homicide charges for participating in a street race during which the spectators lost their lives. Los Angeles, which boasts some of the stiffest street racing laws in the nation, currently has Valenzuela in custody and prosecutors are asking for him to be held on a stiff $2,000,000 bond. If convicted, Izzy faces up to 33 years in prison.
Authorities have also charged Michael Gevorgyan in the case. Gevorgyan was allegedly behind the wheel of the Mustang that actually struck the victims. We will have more on this story as it develops.
