Team “O” Motorsports To Run ADRL Extreme Pro Stock In 2011

The Extreme Pro Stock ranks in the ADRL just continue to get tougher with each season, and 2011 is looking to be the most exciting week in and week out battle that we’ve seen yet, with new cars and new teams joining what is already a stacked category from top to bottom.

One of those joining the mix is the popular Team “O” Motorsports crew, based out of Woodlands, Texas and led by owner and driver Richard Otwell. Team “O” is no stranger to the ADRL landscape as they field the Exteme 10.5 entry of veteran racer and engine builder Jeff Naiser, who has been a standout in the XTF ranks for some years now. In just the last week, the team acquired a new (to them) Pontiac GXP, complete with an 822″ Sonny Leonard-prepared mountain motor bullet that Otwell will campaign at select events on the ADRL schedule pending the results of upcoming preseason testing with the new combination.

Meanwhile, the teams’ familiar Texas flag-themed Pontiac GXP, loaded up with a brand new NRC Slick Rick Cylinder Heads powerplant and set up for Texas Pro Stock action, will reportedly be campaigned on the entire ADRL schedule in the new year.

Interestingly, the team has decided to take a unique approach in the drivetrain department with their XPS efforts, opting for a torque converter-equipped combination. “The drivers and teams running pro stock cars have years of clutch and Lenco ratio experience on us and given the recent performance gains of converter equipped cars in other classes, we are willing to accept the challenge to compete at this level,” said Gary Lidiak, Team ‘O’ Marketing Rep.

Team “O” Motorsports plans to unveil a number of other announcements in the coming weeks leading up the ADRL season opener in Houston, so stay tuned.
