Team Z Motorsports, the shop/mail-order supplier based out of Michigan was well-represented over the weekend at heads-up events across the country. In NMRA competition, Matt Amrine and Drew Lyons both went to the winner’s circle. Amrine has dominated Factory Stock with his 10-second SN95 Mustang, while Lyons recently won his first-ever event in Coyote Stock, but made it two-for-two at the NMRA MDIR event over the weekend.

Closer to Team Z’s Taylor, Michigan stomping grounds, Brian Wolfe won the ever-growing Milan Dragway All-Motor class Friday night. Wolfe won the event with a 7.69, which is a new class record. Again, the class is for naturally-aspirated combos, and races are held once a month at Milan Dragway. This past weekend was the first event of the year, so for Wolfe to run that quick this soon, it could be a long year for his competition.

In 1/8-mile competition down south at Huntsville Dragway for the Radial Fest event, Bad Brad Edwards ran a 3.99 in Pro 315 qualifying at the event to take the top qualifying spot. In Outlaw 10.5 competition, the Harrington brothers  (Chris and Jeff) went 4.26 with a small block Ford and twin 88mm turbos. The Harringtons are getting quicker at each event they attend so look for them to make even more noise as the year goes along.

NMRA Factory Stock racer Matt Amrine has a stranglehold on the class with consistent 10-second passes out of a Two-Valve combination, while many hers have switched over to a Coyote combination.
