The Quaker City Motorsports Park staff will be pulling out all the stops for their blowout Nostalgia Classic on Memorial Day weekend for one of the seasons’ premier events for the longtime facility located in Salem, Ohio.
Our friends at Pace Performance are a presenting sponsor of this year’s Nostalgia Classic, to be held on Sunday, May 25th, which will be packed with more old school drag racing than you can shake a stick at, with something to entertain every gene ratio of racing fan. The event will be headlined by the Pace Performance Great Lakes Funny Car Nationals, with drag racing legend, “The Hawaiian”, Roland Leong, serving as the honorary Grand Marshall.
Also on the card are the Southern Slingshots front engine dragsters, Nostalgic Notions, the touring United Manual Transmission Racers series, Burnout Warz, and a host of fun runs. As well, Quaker City will host a car show as a part of the festivities, giving fans plenty to see on and off the track.
The gates open at 8:30 a.m., with time trials kicking off at 10 a.m. the Southern Slingshots are slated to hit the track at 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00, while the Funny Car Nationals will get underway at 3:30, with another round at 5:30 and eliminations following shortly thereafter. Tickets for spectators and crew are $20, Seniors 65+ and Kids 6-15 $10, and Kids 5 and under Free, with free pit area access to all fans.
