The famed Ramchargers are back. Well, in spirit anyway. Veteran class racer and noted chassis builder Mike Pustelny is slated to debut this brand new, Ramchargers throwback-themed Drag Pak Dodge Challenger in NHRA Division 3 Stock Eliminator competition this season. The Marco Dodge sponsored machine is a 2010 model Drag Pak and carries the tag number “001.” The 6.4L, 392 cubic inch HEMI powerplant is backed by an automatic transmission and will compete in the stacked B/Stock Automatic category within Stock Eliminator.

Pustelny, a familiar foe on the NHRA Division 3 Super Stock trail, constructed the Challenger at his own Mike Pustelny Race Cars shop in Almont, Michigan. The car was recently completed and is scheduled to be officially shown off for the first time at the three-day Detroit Autorama this weekend. It features a set of American Racing three step stainless steel headers, a Hurst Roll Control with Aeroquip brake hoses feeding to Strange disc brakes all the way around, and an Aeromotive fuel system fed through an aluminum fuel cell. Finishing out the exterior and providing the Ramchargers theme a little added old school flavor are the Bogart wheels with a spun aluminum finish that closely resemble the old Motor Wheel Fly wheels that were popular in racing back in the late 70’s and 80’s.
