There must be something in the water in the Land Down Under – it seems like every time we turn around there’s yet another cool car coming out of Oz. In this case, it’s not even a car, but a full-size, right-hand-drive, Ford Bronco “SUV” stuffed chock-full of 427 cubic-inches of small-block nitrous-assisted Ford power. Why is that a big deal, you ask? Well, it’s not really a big deal…until you think about what might occur in the process of trying to wheel this badass machine down the track.

I owned one of these trucks back in the day. It was powered by a wimpy 302-cube engine, and I can tell you firsthand that it was a challenge to keep it running straight on the highway at 75 or 80 MPH, let alone trying to launch 1,100 horsepower and click off nine-second passes near 140 MPH. The fact that this owner, MRCUBE, is willing and able to shoe this machine speaks volumes in itself, and we wish the truck was here in the states so we could see it run in person.

There are a couple of videos out there from the crew at fullboost.com.au with this truck in them, and despite watching all of them, we didn’t find a single instance where the truck launched straight and stayed in the groove for the full 1,320 feet of racetrack. A wild ride, for sure, and although the wheelie bars likely keep the truck off its roof, they certainly don’t help to keep it in the groove. Starting the week with an awesome display of visceral Ford horsepower is a win in our book. Enjoy!
