Tim Lynch and Steve Petty have had a stranglehold on the Outlaw 10.5 competition with their big inch twin turbo Mustang over the years, but now they’re bringing an all-new car to the table after selling their old record-setter to the Kasper race team. Thanks to Skinny Kid Race Cars, we got a sneak peak of what they’re new ride will look like as the body-work was being done, but thanks to a quick update and video from Proline, we got to see this sinister Outlaw 10.5 Corvette roar to life for the first time.
Be sure to check back at Proline’s website for updates as they become available.
With a healthy, fresh 670 C.I. engine almost identical to their old Mustang’s engine breathing through a pair of Precision pro-mod 94mm turbo’s, the sound this monster puts out is just flat-out awesome. Beyond the masterpiece of a powerplant, the fresh gloss black is fitting for this Z06, yet reminiscent of his old car once again. Another one of the in-house custom CNC billet intakes crafted by ORSCA’s Todd Berry is in place, and looks spectacular. John Homier from Bell Chassisworks had to put in a few late nights to get the custom wiring for this ride all finished up, but after he got to stick around for the start-up, he says it was worth every second.
Luckily for all us followers we won’t have to wait long to see the car in its first action – this upcoming weekend in Orangeburg, SC for the George Howard Doorslammer series, so if you’re in the area, you don’t want to miss it! This race is only an 1/8 mile, so we wont be seeing any 200mph trap speeds. Though if these guys can get on top of it and run in the 4.20-4.30 range within a few test/tune passes, they could be very well on their way to resetting their 1/4 mile records, and we wont leave out the possibility of knocking down some 1/8 mile records either.
