WELD Racing Announces Partnership With Pro Stock’s Matt Hartford

[1]

Since 1967, WELD Racing has been the leader in the design and manufacturing of aftermarket, high-performance, racing wheels. To celebrate this historic half-century achievement, Matt Hartford’s six-second, Chevrolet Camaro Pro Stock race car will proudly display WELD Racing’s 50TH Anniversary colors during the 2017 NHRA Heartland Nationals.

“Greg Weld made his first wheels 50 years ago and since then, they’ve taken numerous drivers to NHRA World Championships,” said Norm Young, President and CEO of WELD Racing. “Celebrating this milestone during the NHRA Heartland Nationals at our home track in Heartland Park Topeka is the perfect way to acknowledge Weld’s history and our dedication to all racers, enthusiasts, and racing fans.”

Matt Hartford is the 2001 and 2002 Sport Compact World Champion. He claimed the 2009 ADRL Pro Stock World Champion in Mountain Motor Pro Stock. Hartford is the Vice President of Total Seal Piston Rings, a company that is also celebrating their 50TH Anniversary this year.

The man who makes the power for Hartford’s Camaro is legendary Pro Stock driver, tuner, and engine builder, Warren Johnson. Johnson, a six-time NHRA Pro Stock World Champion, won these hard-fought titles on WELD Racing wheels throughout his illustrious drag racing career.
