Weld Racing-Equipped Racers Off To Strong Start On NHRA Trail

[1]With the way the John Force Racing team has dominated the always-tough Funny Car category so far this season, you would think it’s the 1990’s all over again. In the first three races of the young season, teammates Robert Hight and Mike Neff in their Weld Racing Wheels [2]-equipped Ford Mustangs have been the lone winners in the class.

Hight, the 2009 Funny Car champion, is taking direct aim at another title along with tuner Jimmy Prock, claiming wins at the season opening Winternationals in Pomona and at the most recent stop on the tour in Las Vegas, placing him back atop the points standings. Neff meanwhile, who stepped back into the drivers seat after Ashley Force announced her maternity leave during the off season, took home the hardware at the series’ second stop in Gainesville.

In addition to the strong showing by the John Force Racing squad, Weld Racing-clad racers in Pro Stock have produced solid outings as well. Jason Line and his Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GXP earned back-to-back wins at Pomona and Gainesville to start the year, while Mike Edwards returned to championship form by dominating the category from start to finish in Las Vegas, earning the #1 qualifying position and low ET on his way to victory lane.
