“Man, who makes those wheels?’ we’ve heard asked countless times. Well, we’re here to tell you.
Bowling Green, Kentucky-based RC Components, a fledgling wheel and exhaust manufacturer, has transitioned into the drag racing and street/strip market with their eye-catching wheel designs inspired by the motorcycle wheel market, and they’re turning heads with every new racecar their product shows up on.
RC Components, launched in 1989, established itself as a premier manufacturer of custom forged motorcycle wheels, later moving into the motorcycle exhaust, air cleaner, and fuel management system product markets, as well. Then, quite fitting given the company’s proximity to the drag racing-rich Bowling Green area, they delved into the drag racing market, taking their visually-striking designs and applying them to larger and wider wheels with the launch of the Comp Series for the drag racing market.
RC’s drag racing lineup includes the Exile, Exile-S, Hammer, Hammer-S, Fusion, and Torx wheels, all available in their Eclipse (a polished and black anodized variant), black anodized, and polished finished and all manufactured as one-piece wheels from 6061 T-6 aluminum. From frontrunners to single and double beadlock rears, the lineup pretty well runs the gamut, and RC even launched their very first spindle-mount front wheel at the PRI Show last month, with a 17×4 and an upcoming 17×2 for dragsters.
You can check out a whole host of RC Components-equipped rides, from dedicated drag cars to street machines, on their Facebook page, and we’ll be bringing you plenty more on their head-turning wheels here in the future.
