Wicked Weld Racing-Equipped ’66 Chevy II on SPEED TV’s Pass Time

If you’re a fan of SPEED TV like we are, you’ve probably tuned into the game show Pass Time [1] on more than one occasion. Not only do you get to see some sick cars make passes down a drag strip, you also get to see who’s got what it takes to guess just how fast cars really go given their setup. Recently, one of the guys from Weld Racing ran his car on the show and made quite a presentation. Check out the driver moment with Scott Mackie and his Weld Racing [2]-equipped Chevy II in the StreetFire.net [3]video above.

[4] Pass Time is SPEED TV’s automotive game show with a twist. Lined up along side a drag strip, two contestants and resident “hero” Ken Herring get information about cars that are running the quarter mile.

Before each pass, the participants guess how long it will take each car and driver to reach the speed traps at the end of the track. The person who gets the closest to the actual run time wins a cash prize and bragging rights.

On a recent episode of Pass Time, Weld Racing’s own Scott Mackie took his, or rather his wife’s, ‘66 Chevy II to the track to give the game show contestants a run for their money.

[5]Built on a tube chassis, but still retaining its steel body for the most part, the classic Chevy is quite the heavy car. However, with a 565cui iron block engine under the hood with 360 heads and a custom intake, she’s plenty potent with about 950hp.

Being from Weld Racing, Mackie also sports some Weld Racing Wheels on the car. Not only did they look good sitting still on the track, they also brought even more character to the Chevy’s red and yellow flame paint job and did a mighty fine job stirring up some smoke in the water box.

Pass Time airs Monday through Thursday on the SPEED Channel at 7 and 7:30p.m. Eastern Time. Be sure to tune in to see cars like Makie’s Chevy II running the quarter mile and participants competing against the clock for substantial cash prizes.
