The 2017 racing season isn’t even a month old yet and record performances are already starting to show up. Ziff Hudson brought out his stunning Racecraft built Fox body Mustang at the end of the 2016 season and started shaking things up right away with the reworked car. In testing at Orlando Speed World Dragway in Orlando, Florida, Hudson has dropped the hammer on the small-tire world with an insane 4.01 pass using a set of Mickey Thompson 275 radials.
This level of performance for Hudson and his car is no accident, the Mustang has been performing well since its debut. Hudson grabbed a lot of attention last September when he took his single turbo car and lit the boards up with a crazy 3.96-second pass at over 190 mph. A month later at Duck X Productions’ No Mercy 7, Hudson laid down a 4.055 pass at 186 mph to become the quickest car on a pair of 275 radials.
Preparing for the 2017 season Hudson traveled to Orlando to take advantage of the weather, and get some early testing in. With the wick turned up on the car Hudson ripped off a stunning 4.010 at over 191.54 MPH. On the record-setting pass, Hudson had a 1.043 60-foot time and went a blistering 2.716 to the 330-foot cone. These numbers indicate that Hudson could very well become the first person to hit the three-second zone on a pair of 275 radials.
Look for Hudson to be a threat to win at any event he enters in 2017. The team plans to run this killer Mustang in the Pro 275 and the Radial vs The World classes at Duck X Production events, along with No Time Shootouts across the East Coast.
