Saturday Morning Pit Notes

The Pro Mod Clint Satterfield team out of Albuquerque, NM is in high spirits today. They are running freshly built car which is a 1968 Camaro. So far they are qualified at the bottom of the pack, but they are hopeful once turning up the wick. When asked why they havn't turned it up as of yet, he said "Rome wasn't built in two eighth mile".

Pro Extreme Tommy D'Aprile is ready to rock and roll this morning. Speaking to a teammember, he said they had a good day yesterday. The only issue was a stuck lifter. Luckily, it didn't hurt anything and after swapping it out, they are ready to run.

Pro Extreme Brandon Pesz lost the passenger door at about the 330 yesterday in the second round of qualifying. A crew member reluctantly let us know that he left out on of the door pins which the door hinges on. They also lost a panel inside the car seen here, exposing the rear slick. He said hopefully they will have the door back soon before racing begins.

Pro Nitrous Frankie Taylor had what sounded like a nasty explosion staging in the second round of qualifying. Once they fired it up for a burnout, it let out a burp of flames and had to be pulled of the track. Prying the team this morning didn't lead to much. We were told it was a dead battery and not sure if it is ready to run this morning. We think there is more to the story here!

Qualifying Round Three

Top Sportsman Bob Gulitti, after a bad day yesterday ran a 4.408 at 159 today.

Top Sportsman Chuck Mohn is the number one qualifier after running a 4.113 at 175.

Pro Mod Clint Satterfield ends up in the opposite lane twice in this run. It seemed that he could not keep control and get the car to hook.

Extreme Ten Five Dennis Surgue finally qualifies running a 4.164 at 188. This is their first time running in the ADRL, and are very relieved they made it through qualifying.

Pro Nitrous Robert Mathis had to shut it down towards the top of the track knocking him out of the eight car qualifying class.

Pro Extreme Mick Snyder attempted to make a pass, but the track was too hot and he lost his power management which caused him to run a 10.09 at 41
