The ADRL moves into the Martin Michigan as it nears the half way point of the season. Even four races into the year new cars and fresh rebuilds continue to pop up throughout the classes. Keep it tuned to Dragzine all day Friday and Saturday for coverage from Martin.

- We are here at Martin, the pits are packed and the rain has stopped for a moment. With a slight drizzle just coming through the track will be preped and qualifying is to be started at 11:00 am.
Friday Morning In the Pits

After missing last race Spiro Pappas is back and ready to show the rest of XTF he is still going for the championship.

Chicago racer Mike Recchia is here at ADRL for his second time ever and is looking to improve from his last years DNQ. The team has been testing and has been a best of 3.95 at 183mph. The 1968 camaro was built by Jerry Bickel racecars and uses a AJ 481x built by Fowler racing engines to supply the power.

Canfield, Ohio based John Decerbo is here today for his secound outing with the new Tim Mcamis built 1968 Camaro. In only his second pass John managed a 3.99, the team has done no recent testing and is looking to put the car in the low 3.9x second range.

Cathy Belcher, the ADRL's fastest female is on the grounds today looking to break into the 3 second range. With a best of 4.03 at 187 Belcher's 526 ci 1990 Camaro should have no problem getting the job done. The car was built by G force race cars with updates done by Chris Duncan, the 526 AJ was build and assembeld at A Team speed shop.

Track officals are starting to dry the track after some very heavy rain. The drivers meeting has been delayed as well as qualifying.

The legendary 55 chevy of Charles Carpenter is looking great with its new paint. The team has been traveling around all over the place to get the paint and body work done in the past few weeks. With a disappointing first round loss at the Virginia race due to an electrical error, Carpenter looks to better his performance. Currently #2 in points the North Carolina team is looking to run the number with their 843 ci Fulton powered engine.

The father and son team of Cary and Dean Goforth traveled here with their Extreme Pro Stock cars from Oklahoma. The team has not been out testing since the last race but have been doing well all year, currently #1 and 4 in points the team is feeling strong going into qualifying. While Dean is the current record holder with a 4.05, son Cary went a 4.04 at the last race but did not have the chance to back it up. Both cars are running Sonny's 824 ci engines and Jerry Haas race cars.

The officals are drying the track and we are about to be underway with lots of racing, the drivers meeting is about over and the cars should be lining up soon.

Chuck Ulsch number 4 in points in XTF has been doing a little testing after last race and manged to find a 3.91 at 200mph! The BAE 526 and PSI Screw Blower have proven to be a winning combination for this team and they are going for the win this weekend.

Young driver Jason Hamstra is piloting the Garret built 1968 Camaro powered by a BAE 526 with a screw. The car went 3.70 at the last race and they plan to improve this weekend.
Qualifying Round 1

Brian Gahm currently leads the XPS field with a 4.169 at 172.85. Followed closely behing him is John Montecalvo with a 4.1701 and Trevor Eman with 4.1703.
Round 2 Qualifying
With the heavy rains today, we are going to cut it short and only do 2 rounds tonight and begin with another in the morning.

EXTREME PRO STOCK ROUND 2
Other Notables for XPS were Trevor Eman with a 4.1163 to take the number 3 spot, Elijah Morton improved slighty into the numer 4 spot with a 4.176 and to top of the top 5 Pete Berner ran a nice 4.177.
Round 2 XTF qualifying
Pro Nitrous Round 2 Qualifying

Pat Stoken was the first Pro Nitrous car down the track 2nd round and made his mark with a very clean 3.918 at 196.33. Pat is from Eureka, MT and uses a 864 ci Fulton to supply the power.

Khalid Balooshi BLASTED to a 3.92 to take over the second place qualifying spot. Balooshi had a massive nitrous explosion right after the finishline. Right begind Balooshi is Charles Carpenter with his Terry Murphy build 55 chevy running a 3.956 in and out of the groove
Pro Extreme Qualifying Round 2

While Gaylen Smith from Mansfield,TX went straight to the number 1 spot with a 3.684 at 206.66 mph, KH Al-Thani was not far behind him with a 3.71 blast. KH is running a 526 ci BAE. Also Alex Hossler from Canton,Il Improved with a 3.73 at a large 205.7 mph!

Saltillo, MS based Jason Scruggs got out of shape on his second attempt but still remains number 6 with a 3.77 at 203. Scruggs hopes to better on his final qualifying attempt even though he is well seated in the qualifying order as of now.
