The Arabian Pro Series [2] kicked off it’s second of eight rounds at the Bahrain International Circuit [3] on December 21st with Test & Tune followed by qualifying and a competitive day of eliminations to cap off the three day weekend. Mahana Al Naemi of Al-Anabi Performance [4] came out in testing running strong, along with AAP teammate and PDRA superstar, Lizzy Musi. Musi ran her first 3.6-second run with a 3,69 at over 200 mph in testing, preparing themselves for a strong day of qualifying.

Musi came out in qualifying and reset the Pro Nitrous world record with a 3.671-second shot that lasted all of about ten minutes before Al Naemi rolled the Speedtech Nitrous [6] sponsored Chevrolet Camaro down the BIC surface to the new world record of 3.668 seconds at 203.61 mph (327.69 km/h) to take a stronghold of the leaderboard in Pro Modified and the title of world’s quickest nitrous-powered Pro Mod.

That wasn’t the only record-breaking performance over the weekend, as Gary White piloted the EKanoo Racing [8] Pro Import GT86 back on top of the import record books by the slightest of margins with a 5.753-second shot through the 1/4-mile at 249.9 mph (402 km/h). White bettered the 5.757-second blast by Team Zoian’s Toyota Camry at Orlando Speedworld just a few short weeks ago. The GT86 recorded a killer .947 60-foot time and a blasted by the 1/8-mile clocks in 3.799-seconds, parlaying the front half numbers into yet another world record for Ebrahim Kanoo and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mustafa al Atat didn’t have the quickest or fastest Pro Mod on the property during Round 2 but he did have the most consistent, carrying that momentum to an event win in his supercharged Chevrolet Camaro over a red-lighting Lizzy Musi. Atat pulled the double-up, also wheeling the AAP Chevrolet Corvette featuring the KH Series/Pro Line Racing [9] twin turbocharged V6 monster in Outlaw 10.5, outlasting Yousuf Mohd Al Ali by the narrowest of margins, 3.92 to Al Ali’s 3.93.

EKanoo Racing also pulled a double-up weekend with victories in the competitive Super Street V8 category with Khalid Mohammad behind the wheel of the PLR [9]-powered, twin turbocharged Lexus RCF that defeated Turki Al Humedi from the Q80 Racing camp with a 4.11-second blast in the finals, which was the official class elapsed time record for Super Street V8. Gary White piloted the smaller GT86 in the Outlaw 6 Cylinder category to a walk away with the victory over Mohmmed Khalid; his 6.75 defeated Khalid’s 9.80-second slowing elapsed time. The third round of the competitive points series is scheduled for January 12-13th at Bahrain International Circuit.
