It is the first race of the PSCA season right here in sunny southern California. The initial season opener was suppose to happen in Las Vegas, though it was canceled due to weather. This race will not have the Pro Street class in attendance as local noise ordinance laws has forced Fontana to build a sound wall and it will not be ready until the next PSCA Fontana race. Keep it tuned to DragZine for updates all weekend.
Special thanks to our event coverage sponsor Mickey Thompson. Check out their great line of wheels and tires at www.mickeythompsontires.com.
Test and Tune update coverage starts Friday evening and racing coverage starts Saturday.
Friday Notes:
The weather promises to be sunny and warm for the de-facto season opener for the 2011 PSCA calendar, with the usual Fontana winds kicking up late in the Friday afternoon test session. Attendance so far is light in the heads-up classes, but the index and bracket racers are already out in force. Here are a few photos from today’s test and tune:
That’s it for this lazy Friday afternoon at the track. Qualifying begins at 9am tomorrow, and if you’re in SoCal and you’re looking for something loud and fun to do, come down and join us at the PSCA Spring Break Super Show…
