[4]ADRL: A flurry of competitors remained perfect on the season to highlight the ADRL’s first trip to the scenic Bristol Dragway in Tennessee over the weekend. Rickie Jones scored in Pro Nitrous when he downed Bob Rahaim in the final round for the second straight event, while Alan Pittman used a 3.85 to down “Triple B” Brad Brand in the Extreme 10.5 final. Bo Butner remained the only winner thus far in the SuperCar Showdown, spoiling Ray Skillmans’ series debut in the money round, and Mike Castellana recorded yet another ADRL victory in the Pro Modified division. Pro Extreme winner Jason Scruggs headlined victory circle, earning a great win in a 3.67 to 3.69 final round bout with Tommy D’Aprile. Reigning Top Alcohol Dragster national champion Duane Shields’ regional series victory highlighted the NHRA Northeast Divisions’ season opener at the Virginia Motorsports Park on Sunday. Shields used a great 5.38 to earn the win, as opponent Rich McPhillips had problems and slowed. Shields was joined in victory lane by Todd Veney, who edged DJ Cox Jr. in a great Top Alcohol Funny Car final, 5.66 to a quicker-leaving 5.69. For more weekend results, log on to NHRADiv1.com [9].

[7]NHRA Division 4: Dick Maris headed up the list of winners at the NHRA South Central division meet at the Texas Motorplex outside Dallas, earning the Competition Eliminator title when opponent Rhett Fulton foul started. Larry Cummings downed Pete Peery for the Super Stock crown, and Jimmy Hidalgo Jr.did likewise in Stock Eliminator. Other winners included Gary Stinnett (Super Comp), John Salter (Super Gas), Dan Clary (Super Street), David Oenes (Top Dragster), Danny Leibham (Top Sportsman), and Benji Gibson (Sportsman Motorcycle). [11]Fun Ford Weekend: Johnny Coleman earned the win in Extreme Drag Radial at the Fun Ford weekend event at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, running 5.22 to the 5.29 of Chris Alston in the final. Mark Washington was the victor in Outlaw 8.5, edging Jason Kenzevich in the final., 5.61 to 5.78. Other winners included Kyle Thorpe (Open Comp), Charles Sturdevant (Quick Ford), and Chuck Kheene Mustang Madness).

[12]Spring Sportsman Challenge XX: Tony Virgilio ran dead-on his 4.50 dial in the JEG’S Super Quick final to down Robbie Freels, who was second off the line and ran further from the number in the final at the Gateway Motorsports Park. Don O’Malley took the Stock/Super Stock combo race, feating a red-lighting Larry Hill in the final, and Greg Gerakaris (Super Comp) and Larry Bernahusen (Super Gas) also collected wins at the NHRA national open event.
