NMRA: Same Day Event Coverage on StangTV. As it does each year, the NMRA kicked off another exciting season of all-Ford racing action under the Florida sun at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Despite rain in the forecast, the event ran to completion with a host of winners taking home the hardware and kicking their championship hunt off right on Sunday afternoon. In Pro Outlaw 10.5, Tim Essick downed reigning champ Conrad Scarry in the money round, while Kenjo Kelley took on a tough set of challengers in Super Street Outlaw, including a final round defeat of Phil Hines. Brian Mitchell opened up his title chase in Renegade with a win over Bart Tobener, and Jason Lee secured the first ever Extreme Drag Radial crown with a final round rout of Sean Lyon.

Shakedown Palm Beach: Shakedown at E’Town promoter David Hance opted for a spring counterpart to his wildly successful fall event, choosing the Palm Beach International Raceway as the site for the much-anticipated event, and it didn’t disappoint. Rain on Saturday forced the race to a Sunday conclusion, and once the smoke cleared, Shannon Jenkins (Pro Modified), Danny Lowry (Outlaw 10.5), Scotty Guadagno (Drag Radial/Limited), and Ronnie Wilson (X275) had collected wins in the inaugural event. NHRA Division 4: NHRA’s South Central Division kicked off it’s 2011 schedule over the weekend at the newly renamed Royal Purple Raceway in Houston as sportsman racers aimed to get their divisional and national title hopes off to a solid start. In Top Alcohol Dragster, Monroe Guest took a break single to victory lane, while Chris Foster ousted Tony Bartone in Top Alcohol Funny Car. Other winners included Keith Hall (Comp), Slate Cummings (Super Stock), and Harvey Emmons III (Stock). For full weekend results, visit Drag Race Central.

NHRA Division 2: Already three races into their season, the NHRA’s Southeast Division rolled into South Georgia Motorsports Park over the weekend as racers looked to increase their points leads before many other divisions have even begun. While the Top Alcohol and Comp category were unable to be completed and will be contested at another date, Mark (Super Stock), Russell Linke (Stock), Shane Carr (Super Comp), David Tatum), and David Polichena (Super Street), Ray Miller (Top Dragster, and Bob Barnes (Top Sportsman) collected wins.
