NMCA: Same Day Event Coverage on StreetLegalTV. Local doorslammer legend Randy Adler stole the show in Joliet, as he blasted to the quickest pass in Pro Street history on Friday with a 6.001 and parlayed it into a victory on Sunday over Dan Stevenson. Another famed local, Nick Scavo also found his way to victory lane in the combined Super Street/Pro Outlaw field as he took a single in the final when opponent Brian Hicks broke on the starting line. Joining them in victory lane was Jim Jarrett, Robbie Blankenship, Andy Manson, Bill Trovato, and Alan Von Ahnen.
NMRA: Same Day Event Coverage on StangTV. Former NMRA champ John Kolivas cranked out an incredible 7.05 to open qualifying and never let up all weekend as he downed John Urist in the Super Street Outlaw finale, while in Renegade, #1 qualifier Brian Mitchell outpaced Alton Clements in the final round, 8.47 to 8.56 for the win. Robbie Blankenship won Hot Street and Andy Manson took Drag Radial in eliminators that were combined with the NMCA, while Dan Baumann collected the Real Street win, Brandon Alsept scored in Pure Street, and John Leslie Jr. did likewise in Factory Stock.
NHRA: Event recap here on DRAGZINE. Pro Stock rookie Vincent Nobile collected his second win of the season on Sunday in Norwalk when he downed surprise finalist Larry Morgan, 6.61 to 6.65. In Top Fuel, Del Worsham won for the fourth time this season in a great drag race with Spencer Massey, while Mike Neff also continued his winning ways with his third win this year. Eddie Krawiec defeated Matt Smith for the Pro Stock Motorcycle crown, while Mike Castellana took Pro Modified honors as Danny Rowe reached yet another final round. IHRA Nitro Jam: Bobby Lagana Jr. took the Top Fuel crown on both days of the Rocky Mountain Nitro Jam Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, while Ron Maroney did likewise in the Fuel Altered category with double defeats of Tom Padilla. On Sunday, Wayne Hofer won Pro Modified over Vern Mills with a 4.33, Tim Boychuk ran a great 3.83 to earn the Prostalgia Funny Car win, and Jay Turner downed Steve Dorn for the victory in Nitro Bike, 4.37 to 4.69. IHRA Division 9: Stacy Hall won Top Dragster on Sunday at the IHRA Pro-Am event at Dunn-Benson Dragstrip in North Carolina as opponent Wyatt Colbert red lit first. In Top Sportsman, Mike White used a stellar .003 reaction time and a dead-on 4.80 to defeat Reggie Norris, while world champ Richard Alford Jr. notched another win, as he downed sportsman hitter Michael Beard in the Stock Eliminator finale.
