MASSEY, CAPPS, ANDERSON, STOFFER WINNERS AT GATORNATIONALS
Greg Anderson returned to victory lane in Pro Stock for the first time in nearly three years and Karen Stoffer made a triumphant return to the Pro Stock Motorcycle category with a win to cap the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Florida on Sunday.
NHRA Gatornationals
Karen Stoffer, competing on a one-race sponsorship deal, came out of nowhere in Gainesville to win Pro Stock Motorcycle aboard her flat black Suzuki, defeating Eddie Krawiec — who uncountered mechanical woes — in the final round to open the two-wheeled racing season. In Pro Stock, Greg Anderson won for the first time since Englishtown in 2012, defeating teammate Jason Line in the final, 6.53 to 6.55. Don Schumacher Racing teammates Spencer Massey and Ron Capps won out in the nitro categories — Massey besting Tony Schumacher on a holeshot in Top Fuel and Capps ousting surprise finalist John Hale in Funny Car.
