PDRA World Finals

r4If anyone doubted the championship runs of some of the PDRA’s newly-crowned title holders, that was quickly put to rest on Sunday afternoon as four of the series’ new champions closed out their year atop the winner’s podium at the season-ending Brian Olson Memorial World Finals at the Virginia Motorsports Park. The charge was led by Pro Extreme’s Brandon Snider, who wrapped up the championship earlier in the event, before dropping Jason Scruggs in the final run of the season, 3.53 to a 3.63. In Pro Nitrous, Tommy Franklin scorched scorched the VMP 1/8-mile with the quickest pass in class history, a 3.677 at 204 mph, to drive around Steve Jackson’s 3.76, while Kevin Rivenbark finished off a dominant year for Galot Motorsports in Pro Boost, taking a 3.71 to 3.76 victory over Ty Tutterow. And in Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Eric McKinney, like Franklin, not only won the championship and the race, but set both ends of the world record in the process with a crushing 3.986 at 178 mph on a break single run in the finale.
