Following weeks of rumors and behind-the-scenes negotiations, the Discovery Channel and Pilgrim Studios made official today its plan to continue its Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings spinoff show with a second season. The first season of the track-only, hardcore racing program, the third spinoff of the venerable Street Outlaws franchise, was filmed through the late fall and winter months and aired from February through April on Discovery, with noted Texas no-prep star James Finney claiming the inaugural season title over Oklahoma City’s Ryan Martin in dramatic fashion.
Pilgrim Studios will kick off the new season in Topeka, Kansas on the weekend of June 22-23 and will carry through the end of October, contesting events at nine different venues in nine states. Three of those venues — Memphis (July 13-14), Tucson, Arizona (September 28-29), and Galot Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina (October 13-14) — were featured in season one. In addition to the Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, the stars of Street Outlaws will also visit the Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania (Aug 31-Sept 1), the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois (September 7-8), the Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado (September 22-23), Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio (October 5-6), and will wrap it all up at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas October 26-27).
Discovery has not yet announced air dates for the coming season, but based on the timetable used in season one, the series is likely to premiere in the autumn or early fall months.
