Holley Performance Products has become one of the largest high-performance companies in the industry. It now includes Holley Fuel Systems, Weiand Air Systems, NOS, Hooker Exhaust Systems, Earl’s Plumbing Systems, and Flowtech Exhaust Systems. Just think, it all started with Holley way back in 1903. In fact, over 250,000,000 Holley carburetors have been produced over the years for everything from Henry Ford’s original Model A to the baddest factory muscle cars ever to roll out of Detroit.

Bill Tichenor, Director of Marketing for Holley, was at PRI introducing some hot products for 2010. Two new HP carbs were announced in 850 CFM (P/N 0-82851) and 950 CFM (P/N 082951). HPs have gained a reputation for great performance at a great price. Although they are called Street HPs, they are equally at home on the track. They feature the popular Holley HP Series race-ready main body but are calibrated for street/strip duty. Other features include mechanical secondaries for optimum tire-turning performance, power valve blow-out protection, non-stick gaskets, adjustable air bleeds, a four corner idle system, a Ford kick-down, and down leg boosters. Their larger CFMs make them perfect for hot small blocks as well as big blocks. Budget priced in the $500 range at many of the large mail-order houses makes them quite affordable.

Bill showed us a new Holley Wide Band O2 Controller with gauge. A wide band oxygen sensor is the ultimate addition to any carbureted or EFI vehicle. It can accurately measure any air/fuel ratio between 10:1 and 18:1. This allows the engine tuner to read the air/fuel ratio in real time for extremely accurate tuning. The kit features a 3-digit numeric display along with a 40 segment bar graph. With the ultra-high intensity light emitting diodes you will be able to see your air/fuel ratio even under direct sunlight. It is designed to operate in street or race environments and will withstand heat, dirt, and vibration. The O2 gauge conveniently fits a standard 2-1/16″ gauge pod.

NOS has introduced a new LS2 No Spray Bar nitrous plate system (P/N 05169NOS) for the 2010 Camaro. Per Bill, “This will get you into the 11’s.” A No Spray Bar means no air stream turbulence. The NOS LS2 plate system includes stainless steel jets that allow power to be adjusted from 100 to 150 HP in 25HP increments. The NOS LS2 Plate is CNC machined from billet aluminum and is black anodized and laser engraved. The plate will fit throttle bodies up to 90mm. Included in the kit is a specific fit micro-switch engagement bracket for C6 Corvettes. The LS2 plate system will also fit Cadillac CTS-V, SSR, GTO, and GM LS power trucks but will require fabricating a micro-switch engagement bracket.

Bill also showed off NOS’s new CrossHair™ carbureted nitrous plate kits. They’re available for standard square flange carbs (P/N 02153NOS) and Dominator® flange carbs (P/N 02154NOS). The new CrossHair systems were developed with the serious racer in mind and are capable of adding 350+ additional horsepower. “Double Down” spray bars are crisscrossed in the plate to deliver a wide spray pattern plus improve the distribution and atomization of the fuel and nitrous. Fuel is delivered at a 37 degree angle while the nitrous is delivered at a 35 degree angle sheering the fuel for improved atomization. This spray pattern makes it a good choice for all intake designs.
