PRI 2018: C&R Advanced Cooling Technology Elite 3000 Intercooler

The popularity of boost is at a record high, and we don’t predict that its popularity will go away anytime soon. The market is super competitive for power adders at the moment, and even the OE manufacturers are producing more boosted combinations at the factory.

One of the most significant problems with force-feeding an engine with an abundant amount of air and fuel is heat. As the air is tumbled through a turbo or supercharger, it heats up, which can cause the air charge to become inefficient. The cure for this situation is an intercooler. This product will help cool off the air charge before entering the engine for more boost efficiency.

There are many types of intercoolers available, and C&R Advanced Cooling Technology is adding to its product lineup with the all-new Elite 3000 intercooler. We talked to David Soder, Engineer from C&R Advanced Cooling, about the new air-to-water intercooler. David said, ” We are currently testing this new intercooler on a 3,000-horsepower race car in Australia. It is designed for drag racing in high-boost applications but could be used in other applications.”

The Elite 3000 is a super compact air-to-water intercooler that utilizes machined billet end caps and TIG-welded construction. C&R tests all of its units up to a pressure of 100 psi to handle any boost levels that it may see. According to David, this part is still in the testing phase, so the details are still coming in from Australia and the part should be available for resale in about six months.
