S&W Race Cars Stepping Up Mustang Support

S&W Race Cars is rolling out some new product at PRI. For the S197 (’05-’10) Mustangs, they are offering their 9” Rear Housing that is a bolt-in replacement for stock 8.8″ rear axle housings to really beef up the drivetrain. It’s available in both stock width and 2” narrowed for a 15” wide tire and is NHRA/IHRA compliant. It has shock and control arm brackets in stock location, and the lower control arm brackets feature additional holes for suspension adjustment to dial in your setup.

The housing end accepts 3.150″ axle bearings. While it does requires aftermarket axles, and there is no provision for a factory anti-roll bar, it does however accept the factory brakes on the ends. Best of all, you get the advantage of being able to swap out the center section to make rear end gear changes easily.

S&W is also expanding their line of anti-roll bars with a ’05-’10 Mustang version of their successful F-Body kit. Don Scholl of S&W Race Cars says, “The F-body version showed as much as -.10 to -.15 reduction in 60 foot times.” It uses two top axle tube brackets that weld to the axle tubes allowing the rest of the kit to be bolted in place and making it acceptable for classes where welding to the chassis is not allowed. The kit includes all of the necessary brackets and hardware, splined aluminum arms, and a real splined torsion bar – not just a piece of moly tubing. It fits housings with 3″ axle tubes ONLY.

In their effort to make the racer’s life easier, S&W has developed a new 4-Link Tube Adjusting Jig. This handy tool allows you to set your bars at equal length and then install them on the car. Inexpensive and easy to use, this tool is a must for every serious racer’s tool box. It works with rod ends with 5/8” holes.

S&W Race Cars is excited to offer a “Car Club Program”. This program is available for any club. Simply send S&W your mailing list to receive 10% off any S&W made product in their entire catalog.
