Since the dawn of the hot rod age, manual transmissions have always been a popular option among performance enthusiasts. It takes racing to another level giving the driver precise control in the corners, down the drag strip, and it makes driving fun on the streets. However, in years past, if you needed a high-performance clutch that could take a beating, be prepared to make a sacrifice with drivability. Heavy clutch pedals super finicky disc made banging gears a chore. Monster Clutch has developed a clutch system that cures all of the high-performance clutch ailments of the past.
Monster starts with a factory GM LT1 based pressure plate, and then they modify the lift/release and the plate load to increase performance. Even with these modifications, the clutch pedal will feel like the factory unit. Their twin-disc clutch has the benefits of a factory unit combined with the strength to take severe abuse. And we should mention that the S-Series generates a clean release with factory based GM hydraulics up to 8000 rpm!
These units thrive on the street in stop and go traffic and are just as easy as driving a factory car. They also do great at the drag strip with numerous recorded 9-second passes, as well as the road course or autocross track. – Jason Worlitz
Monster utilizes a patent-pending CNC machined billet steel flywheel to convert them to work in numerous applications. All of their units are balanced to less than 0.100 OZ/IN at no additional charge.
Jason Worlitz, the General Manager at Monster Clutch Co., said, “These units thrive on the street in stop and go traffic and are just as easy as driving a factory car. They also do great at the drag strip with numerous recorded 9-second passes, as well as the road course or autocross track.
