Would you like to know how to start a fight on the internet when it comes to cars? Just try to define what’s considered a streetcar, people will come out of the woodwork to argue with you. Alexander Case really doesn’t care what anyone thinks, his 1965 Dodge Coronet gasser is rocking a big supercharged HEMI and it gets driven to the dragstrip.

When you optimize a car for drag racing activities it will inherently take away from how well it drives on the street, but if you’re willing to do whatever it takes to go fast that won’t be an issue. A gasser-style vehicle isn’t very street-friendly to start with based on its stance, mix in some big horsepower, and now you’ve got something that’s a real handful. Case’s Coronet is an extreme example since the wheelbase of the car has been altered, but that doesn’t bother him at all.

The first thing that grabs your attention when you look at the Coronet is the 624 cubic-inch Keith Black HEMI with a giant supercharger sitting on top of it. Case opted to go with a total of eight two-barrel carburetors to feed the HEMI all of its fuel and air, an interesting touch you don’t see on many supercharged engines. If those carbs weren’t enough to max out the cool-meter on this Coronet, it has a pair of Vertex magnetos providing spark to the 16 spark plugs.

In this video from victoryredcolorado, you get to see Case drive the Coronet through the gates at Byron Dragway during the 2nd Annual Glory Days event. This Dodge sounds super rowdy and has some serious issues getting traction when Case drops the hammer. We really want to see what this street-driven gasser could do if Case was able to get ahold of the track!
