The gang at Holcomb Motorsports has been putting on races forever – their Civil Wars events pit North versus South and have been going on at the Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina for years now. They’ve decided to hold another race this year in addition to the Civil Wars, dubbed the Outlaw King Of The Streets, to be held over the weekend of March 16-17, 2013 at the Carolina Dragway, better known as the House Of Hook.
Three eighth-mile heads-up classes will be run during the course of the event – X275 ($5000 to win), Outlaw Drag Radial ($5000 to win), and Ultimate Street Race ($2500 to win). There will also be a $5000 Box (electronics) bracket race, $2000 No Box class, Junior Dragster class paying $1000 to the winner, and a combo 6.0/7.0 index shootout. In addition, if you purchase $100 from Holcomb Motorsports by race day, and run their decals on your car and win, you’ll be in line for another cool $500 to go with your winnings.
A swap meet and car show will also be on the premises and the gates will open at 8 a.m. both days of the event. A test session will be held on Friday evening for those racers looking to get an early handle on the racing surface.
If you’ve ever been to the House Of Hook, you know why they call it that, and if you’re in the area, you’ll be smart to make plans to come out and race or spectate at this event. The Holcomb team has a great reputation for putting on quality races, and the Outlaw King Of The Streets event should be no different.
