If you wrench on your own cars at home or at the track, you probably know about QuickJack‘s portable car lifts. Well, BendPak, the company behind them, just gave the whole lineup a serious upgrade. They’ve rolled out a new power unit, beefed up the frames, and even added new models that can now handle much heavier vehicles, making a popular tool even better.

A big part of this upgrade is a totally new electric/hydraulic power unit for all QuickJack models. It now has a clever pressure-compensated flow divider, which means both lift frames go up and down perfectly together for a stable lift. BendPak also added independent shut-off solenoids on the hydraulic cylinders.This feature increases reliability by preventing pressure imbalances if a user stops the lift partway up or down. It’s not just the hydraulics either; QuickJack beefed up the actual lift frames with thicker crossmembers, improved weld geometry, and updated pivot joints to reduce flex and keep everything aligned under load. Plus, the hydraulic systems now come preassembled from the factory, saving customers setup time.

All these improvements allowed QuickJack to bring out some new heavy hitters for those with bigger vehicles. The new 6000TL and 6000TLX models can now lift 6,000 pounds, while the brawny 8000TL and 8000TLX versions handle a hefty 8,000 pounds – the most powerful QuickJacks yet.

This means an extra 1,000 pounds of lifting capacity over previous comparable models without making the lifts bigger or harder to move around. These four new higher-capacity models have also passed strict third-party safety tests and earned certification from the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI).Jeff Kritzer, BendPak’s President and the inventor of QuickJack, said the new hydraulic system “is a big leap forward,” and added that the frame improvements make the lifts “stronger, safer, and more capable than ever.” Even with the increased strength, QuickJacks keeps its well-known slim profile for easy storage, simple one-handed pendant control, automatic mechanical safety locks, and durable urethane wheels.

All existing QuickJack accessories also remain compatible. With these upgrades and new, heavier-duty models, QuickJack seems to have made its popular portable car lifts even more useful for everyone, from home do-it-yourselfers (DIYers) working on their sports cars to folks needing to get larger trucks and SUVs safely in the air.
