The Discovery Channels’ Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings series is set to return for a third season this spring, with live no-prep drag racing action featuring the stars of Street Outlaws and a bevy of challengers hailing from coast to coast. The series revealed its nine-race schedule today, which spans a host of new and returning venues from Maryland to Florida to Idaho and points in between.
The series, which races before a live audience and is later televised in unscripted episodes on Discovery, will kick off its six-month tour in early May with its first visit to the Maryland International Raceway, before moving north to another new venue on the schedule — New Hampshire’s New England Dragway.
In June, the series will visit another track for the first time, Madison, Illinois’ Gateway International Raceway, before heading West to the Firebird Raceway in Boiso, Idaho. A jaunt back to the Midwest and the Route 66 Raceway near Chicago will be followed by stops in Denver, Colorado, Norwalk, Ohio, and West Palm Beach, Florida, before concluding — for the second year in a row — with the finale at the Texas Motorplex near Dallas in late October.
Last year, Texas’ own Mike Murillo came from behind in epic fashion in Dallas to steal the series crown and the lucrative prizes that went with it from season-long points leader Ryan Martin; Martin, who was also upset at the final race of the season a year earlier by James “Birdman” Finney, will be seeking vengeance as a host of top-flight racers the likes of Larry Larson, Rich Bruder, Jeff Lutz, and Brent Austin rise to shake up the leaderboard.
