Video: 1,950 HP From Brad Waddle’s ADRL Extreme Pro Stock Ford

Innovators West sponsors Brad Waddle’s ADRL Extreme Pro Stock 2013 Mustang, built by Jerry Haas Race Cars and recently had his 828-cubic inch engine on the dyno. The Ford Hemi engine was built by Jon Kaase Racing Engines and makes a whopping 1,950 horsepower by utilizing a variety of top-shelf components from different manufacturers. 

A billet engine block provides the foundation, relying on a 4.78-inch bore and 5.75-inch Bryant billet crankshaft that spins a set of BME aluminum connecting rods along with Diamond pistons. Sealed Power rings keep the compression where it’s supposed to be, while Jon Kaase provided a set of his Hemi heads with WW rocker arms actuating Victory 1 Performance titanium valves. Of course, in true racer fashion, the Innovators West team declined to share valve sizes and camshaft specifications with us, but a good guess would be “huge” by “large.” BTW, Engine Labs showcased a similar engine in Robert Killian’s street-driven ’28 T.

On top, a Hogan’s Racing sheetmetal intake features a set of billet runners that suck down the fuel from a set of Braswell‘s finest split Dominator carburetors with 2.5-inch throttle bores. Moroso is in control of the oiling, setting the team up with segregated oil pans, valve covers and a 6-stage dry-sump pump flowing Driven synthetic oil. The engine’s vacuum is controlled by one of Star Machine‘s mountain-motor vacuum pumps, and VP Q16 provides the fire.

Of course, what good would an Innovators West-sponsored car be without one of its Pro Stock harmonic dampers with a built-in crank trigger?

The Mustang also carries a Lenco 5-speed manual transmission between the framerails and sends the power to a set of 34.5x17x16 slicks. The car weighs a scant 2,425 pounds with Waddle onboard, and the team’s best performance this season has been a 4.082 at 177.02 MPH in the eighth-mile.
