Video: Cumstang is Not Just a Sooty Innuendo!

With a car title like “Cumstang” one has to wonder about the owners motivations. A clumsy contraction of words, or a motivated descriptor. Either way you view it, this Mustang definitely has the potential to put down some suggestive moves on the track. Ford owners are pretty die-hard when it comes to powerplant swaps. Not often are non-Ford engines found in their precious pony cars.

The conspicuous amount of sulfur rich smoke filling the sky is your first hint at the unusual choice of horsepower for this car. Standing in the burnout pits the driver slowly builds boost and lights up the huge rear slicks for a tire melting display of diesel torque.

Screen Shot 2015-08-26 at 2.18.49 PM copyLetting off the gas, you can hear the massively loud compressor surge as the air-charge back-flows the turbo. Such a huge turbo and amount of boost blocked from entering the induction can really damage the impeller.

Waiting for the tree to show its lights, the Mustang seems to have just enough time to get spooled up. When the driver puts the power down the Mustang hops out of the hole rather than squatting to plant the power in the asphalt.

Rolling down the track like a coal powered locomotive the Ford is mostly obscured from view, but finally clears the finish line traps with a time of 10.711 at 106 mph. Such a fast ET and slow speed must mean he had to pedal it down the track, perhaps a result of that diesel torque and questionable suspension set up.
