So what’s the best way to determine which brand is superior to the other? With a head-to-head drag racing event of course, and that’s exactly what the folks down at Gulfport Dragway in Gulfport, Mississippi do every year. Held at the Gulfport Dragway every season, the Ford vs. Chevy Shootout pins 100 Fords against 100 Chevys in a grudge-match, bracket style competition.

Cars, trucks and dragsters alike run in three classes designated as Electronics, Street and Foot Brake competitors for trophies and cash prizes, as well as bragging rights.

Last year the event was held the weekend of October 23^rd, and as you can see from the video, the Chevy brand was represented in full force. From daily drivers to full-fledged race cars, the two day event looks like it was a blast for all automotive enthusiasts.

The annual Ford vs. Chevy shootout will be taking place once again at the Gulfport Dragway this year the weekend of October 21^st. Now would be an excellent time to start planning your trip to Mississippi to kick some blue oval butt!
