Video: Lunati Bootlegger Cams Brings Us Part III – The Legacy

bootlegger1Many of us gearheads have a story, some great, some not so great. For the lucky ones, their story begins when their father was out working on an old hot rod and they can remember the first time they were asked to lend a hand and help the old man out while working on the car.

If you’re in that position where you’re asking your kid to give you a hand with your ride, then you probably have memories that you can share with your kid about the old days – before emissions and front wheel drive, before air bags and automatic seat belts, and before the term “cold air intake” was coined. Those were the days when fast came from performance parts instead of a computer program.

BootleggerimageLunati‘s Bootlegger Cams brings us back to those times when camshafts made power, and now that old-school power is paired with modern technology. And that’s why Lunati has created it’s own three-part video story about Bootlegger Cams, finishing off the trilogy with The Legacy as seen above.

The Legacy reminds us of those days gone past, and brings them back up to speed with bootlegger cams, and Lunati reminds us: “The difference between an outlaw and a criminal often comes down to who gets caught.

Just as you might imagine, the Bootlegger series has strong racing influences. Taking design cues from the Voodoo series, the Bootlegger series features faster opening rates, with a 108-degree lobe separation angle and 104-degree intake centerline. This aggressive combination can provide more low and mid-range power where you want it, and provides gains of up to 40 horsepower. The cams are available in flat tappet and hydraulic roller versions for many Ford and Chevy small-block applications and Chevy big-block applications.

You can see the entire trilogy at Lunati’s YouTube channel, or you can find part one and part two on our own pages. Contact Lunati at their website and check out the Bootlegger Series of camshafts – and keep the legacy alive.
