We think it goes without saying that our hobby is a pretty expensive one, especially if you want to go fast – but we’re sure you already knew that. You didn’t need us to tell you that, but fortunately, folks like the owner of this nitrous-powered Fox Mustang hatch have experimented over the years to find the easiest, most affordable combinations for making power on the cheap.
It’s no secret that these small-block Ford V8 engines love to make power, especially their torque down low being a pushrod engine.
So, when you mix a mild Ford Performance camshaft, a pair of GT-40 cylinder heads, and a bottle of nitrous into the mix on an otherwise-stock Fox Mustang with its pushrod 5.0-liter engines, things tend to get fun.
The gentlemen who owns this particular Fox is running those aforementioned handful of modifications on his hatch. We’re guessing this Fox has a decently sized shot of the juice, however, since the car is able to take down a pretty hefty competition in the NEAD No Prep Radial class.
Lining up against a turbocharged Fox, a 2JZ-swapped Capri and another nitrous-powered Fox seems to have been no match for this nasty Fox.
“I pulled on him, and I kept pulling on him,” the owner said. “I thought a turbo car was supposed to come on hard, but that one wasn’t – not tonight.”
Again, the owner claims that the build on his Fox is nothing special. We like simplicity, and like Ford-powered ’Stangs, so we’ll drink to that.
