NMCA: Same Day Event Coverage on StreetMuscleMag. The NMCA and its competitors converged on the Bradenton Motorsports Park over the weekend to officially kick off the 2011 racing season, with a host of new cars and new faces among the contingent. In Pro Street, Joe Dunne used a consistent string of performance, highlighted by a 6.10 best in the semis to advance to the money round, where he took a broken single to a 6.14 as opponent-to-be Chris Rini encountered trouble in the previous round. In Super Street, Mike Murillo ran the table by qualifying #1 and marching his way through eliminations to a final round defeat of John Lastinger, 7.15 to 7.72. In Nostalgia Pro Street, Joe Bucaro used a holeshot in a stellar drag race to best Chuck Demory Jr., a 7.316 beating out a 7.312. And in Extreme Street, what would’ve been a matchup of heavyweights became a single as Bob Kurgan got the win with an 8.14 over a clearly wounded Bill Trovato.

LSX Shootout: Same Day Event Coverage on LSXMAG. In conjunction with the NMCA season opener in Bradenton, the new four-race LSX Challenge series kicked off over the weekend with a host of GM-powered machines taking to the track in a handful of different categories.
