West coast lensman Jim McCarthy was on hand at this year’s NHRA Sonoma Nationals in the wine country of Northern California, the second stop of the NHRA’s three-race Western Swing, to capture all the sights of this popular and scenic event.

From the bright lights and roof-high header flames of evening qualifying to the crowning of Billy Torrence (top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock), and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) on Sunday afternoon, and even some sportsman action, it’s all here!
