CRAMPTON, HIGHT, ENDERS, KRAWIEC WINNERS AT RECORD-SETTING LUCAS OIL NATIONALS
Richie Crampton (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car), Erica Enders (Pro Stock), and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) climbed atop the podium after a historic day of racing on Sunday at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at the Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota.

Richie Crampton recorded a career best 3.69 in the Top Fuel final round — also the third-quickest pass in history — to earn his his fourth victory of the season and move into third in the points on Sunday, as he downed Brittany Force in the final round after a record-setting day of racing at the Brainerd International Raceway. In Funny Car, Robert Hight emerged from one of the most impressive single events for any single class in NHRA history in terms of performance to earn his first win of the season over Tommy Johnson Jr., 3.95 to a 4.13. In Pro Stock, Erica Enders took over the points lead with a 6.55-second, holeshot-aided defeat of local favorite Jason Line, and Eddie Krawiec downed Harley-Davidson teammate Andrew Hines in the Pro Stock Motorcycle finale, 6.84 to 6.89.

Jason Scruggs earned his fourth Pro Extreme victory of the season at the Memphis International Raceway on Saturday evening, as he downed Terry Leggett on a holeshot — a .004 reaction time carrying him to a 3.57 to 3.54 win. In Pro Nitrous, Tommy Franklin drove around Steve Jackson, 3.78 to 3.81, for his second win of the year, while Kevin Rivenbark also gained his second victory of the season, defeating Kevin Fiscus by a 3.83 to 3.86 count.

Reigning Top Alcohol Dragster national champion Chris Demke added another trophy to his shelf on Sunday at the NHRA Lucas Oil Series meet at the Pacific Raceways near Seattle, as he and Garrett Bateman recorded identical 5.294-second passes in a spectacular drag race. Sean Bellemeur claimed the Top Alcohol Funny Car title with a 5.59 to down Randy Parker, and Jeff Lane used an .019 light in the Competition Eliminator final to fend off a quicker Justin Lamb.
