Rig Of The Month: Many Flying A Motorhomes Are More New Than Used

As the official trailer/motorcoach dealer of Dragzine, Flying A Motorsports‘ extensive lineup of new and used motorhomes, toterhomes, racecar trailers, stacker trailers, car haulers, and cargo trailers are highlighted here in this monthly Rig of the Month feature.

Even if you’re looking for a “new” rig, it doesn’t hurt to cruise through the Flying A Motorsports’ website on its trade-in haulers and trailers. This month’s 2019 Dynaquest motorhome is the perfect example.

“This Dynaquest XL 37BH is one of Dynamax Motorhomes premier models,” says Alan Cape, President of Flying A Motorsports. “The base construction consists of 2-inch aluminum framing with laminated sidewalls and block foam insulation. The floor and roof trusses are also framed-in aluminum.”

The outer shell is comprised of gel-coat fiberglass walls and a crowned, one-piece fiberglass roof. Along the saddle storage area, there are 13 side-hinged, locking aluminum exterior storage and access doors.

This trade-in to our Cuba, Missouri sales lot has only 7,000-miles on the odometer, more or less. The 450-horsepower Cummins 8.9-liter engine and Allison six-speed automatic transmission will not be considered broken-in until the 75,000-mile mark. – Alan Cape

“This Dynomax XL is a neat unit from a good company,” Cape explains. “They are not a super heavy-duty rig to haul multiple cars with a stacker trailer. For someone towing a 28- to 32-foot single car race trailer, this is fine. It could even haul a little more with some increased bracing to the hitch; they could safely haul a little more than that.”

This motorhome has all the bells and whistles like a fireplace, driftwood cabinetry, and full size kitchen appliances.

Even for a single-car racing operation, there is ample room inside for the family and/or team members. Cape explains, “With the king bedroom, twin bunk bed area, a cab-over bunk, and couch hide-a-bed, you can entertain and sleep six to seven comfortably. It also contains a full two-sink bathroom with a shower in the rear and a 1/2-bath towards the front.”

“The kitchen area is very nice; it has a 22-cubic foot residential refrigerator, induction range and convection microwave oven,” Cape says. “The solid surface countertops have a hand-laid tile backsplash and double bowl stainless steel sink.”

The overall rig has three slide-out amenities. Two slides for the master bedroom expand the bed and master closet area while a front slide extends the dinette and couch area.

The list of mechanicals for the Dynomax unit is extensive as well. There is a 50-amp service with power cord reel. To handle electricity on your own, there is an 8-kilowatt Onan diesel generator with auto transfer switch and auto generator start. Heating and cooling are handled by two low-profile 15,000-BTU air conditioners with heat strip.

For the long trips, there are a clothes washer and dryer, Dyson rechargeable vacuum with attachments, plus a whole-motorhome water filtration system.

Alan continues, “There are also DVD players with Bose sound systems in each area, along with USB charging ports. A Winegard In-Motion T4 Satellite and Winegard Dome Antenna keep the entertainment feed running.”

The comforts continue with an Aqua-hot diesel water heater system with engine pre-heat. Included is an exterior shower in the service bay area along with an upgraded 12-volt on-demand water pump that puts out four-gallons per minute of volume.

"Entertainment is very luxurious in this motorhome," Alan Cape says. "There is a 40-inch 4K Samsung® LED smart television in the living area, and an entertainment center with 50-inch Samsung LED 4K smart TV in the master bedroom. This bunkhouse model even includes a television with the cab bunk area."

Within the cab area, there are leatherette driver and passenger air-ride seats with swivel bases. There are also backup and side-view cameras along with a Mobileye Collision Avoidance System. The driver can get serious with an in-dash Garmin RV navigation system while enjoying life with a Kenwood 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit connected to a JBL Premium cab sound system.

Not only can you see much more on this specific motorhome on the Flying A website, but you can also view the daily updated inventory and use their payment calculator included on every sale page. The company will be rolling out an entirely new website very soon to offer even more customer convenience.
