Maximize Rearend Strength With A Pro Race Axle Package From Strange

There are several different parts that play a critical role in the process of power application during a drag race, and axles could be the most important of them all. The axles you use need to be strong, but they can’t be too heavy because that will rob you of performance. Strange Engineering has found a way to encompass both of these attributes into its Pro Axles, and it provides these parts in a variety of packages.

The steel alloy that Strange uses for its axles is called Hy-Tuf — these axles have a low amount of carbon in them and high quantities of manganese, nickel, and molybdenum steel. This same material was originally designed to be used for military aircraft landing gear, so it definitely has some strength. The axles have a tensile strength of 240,000 psi, but they’re still ductile enough to be used in a drag racing application.

Strange offers its Pro Axle Packages in 28-40 spline configurations. These packages will work with a wide range of popular rearends and are machined in-house at Strange. The Pro Axles are available up to 34 7/8-inches long, can have lightening holes machined in the flange, use an ultra-light flange, or can be gun-drilled based on its size. Each kit also comes with low friction drag racing-specific bearings and a stud kit. If you want a spool included, retainer plates added, or have the axle bearings installed Strange can make that happen, too.
