The 45th Annual Norwalk Night Under Fire Entertains A Capacity Crowd

Bill Bader Jr. will be the first person to tell you that he’s in the entertainment business, not the racing business, and that’s why you’re always going to be treated to a show at Summit Motorsports Park. The 45th Annual Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire absolutely drove that point home as it entertained nearly 40,000 fans.

It takes the Summit Motorsports Park team a year to plan the Night Under Fire — every detail of what fans see is planned out to the minute, including when the flyover occurs during opening ceremonies. Bader and his team work hard to ensure fans have an experience that rivals any major amusement park during the Night Under Fire.

“We were thrilled to have had such a tremendous turnout for the Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire. We wanted our guests to see a great show, and they did. In addition to all of the fan-favorites, including Funny Cars, Top Fuel Motorcycles, Bob Motz and his jet truck, jet dragsters, and others, we added some very exciting new elements, including a Monster Truck and an enhanced pyrotechnics program, as a way to continue growing the show and giving our guests an exceptional experience,” Bader says.

Before the show begins all the stars are introduced during a parade down the track in front of the capacity crowd. Bader, dressed in his tuxedo, stops many of the racers to ask them questions and get their thoughts about the event. Every racer talks about how honored they are to be a part of the show, even the multi-time NHRA world champions participating in the event.

“This year’s show was very special to our whole team for a number of reasons, and we are happy that our guests, our entertainers, and our racers enjoyed themselves. Now it’s time to turn our focus to next year’s show,” Bader states.

If you’re a hardcore drag racing fan, or just want to spend a day being entertained by the best in the business, you need to add the Night Under Fire at Summit Motorsports Park to your bucket list. The Summit Motorsports Park team works hard to ensure the Night Under Fire delivers an entertainment experience that you won’t find at any other race track.
