The SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout is a unique event. It has nearly all of the ingredients that go into an NHRA national event, but it feels like a Saturday night Quick 8 race at your local track. Bradenton Motorsports Park just looks different when it’s filled with all the fanfare of a big show nitro race. What used to be a closed test session has been turned into a racing spectacle by the PRO organization.
For the teams, they get a chance to test and practice their race day routines, all while chasing some good prize money at the PRO Superstar Shootout. You can’t put a price on that experience because there’s no way to fully simulate a national event turnaround at the shop. All of the sportsman racers who made the trip to the PRO Superstar Shootout are presented with an opportunity to race in front of big crowds.
This event really has a great vibe and gives the racers a chance to enjoy themselves. While the teams are a bit more relaxed than they normally are at a national event, they’re still pushing hard to make the show and win rounds. You can tell how much it means to the winners by how hard they celebrate in the winner’s circle long after most of the crowds have left. The PRO Superstar Shootout has established itself as a must-attend event for NHRA fans.
