Lights Out is more than an event, it’s an experience. The best way to describe what happens at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP) when Lights Out comes to town is controlled chaos. There’s a certain old-school outlaw feel to Lights Out, the fans are extra amped up, racers dream of winning this event, and it always produces big moments.

Documenting an event like Lights Out is a real challenge. There’s something constantly going on somewhere, but that also means there are countless stories to tell, and breathtaking images that can be captured. The racers, the cars, and the memories being made by fans make it a great event to cover.

The biggest story of Lights Out clearly was Ken Quartuccio’s performance in Radial vs The World. Each time Radial vs The World came up to the starting line it felt like a heavyweight title fight was about to kick off, and Quartuccio was always on the main card. The record-setting 3.473 run was just the opening act for Quartuccio. His push to greatness through each round of eliminations en route to the Lights Out winner’s circle was a treat to watch.

Winning at Lights Out is such a big moment for any racer. Three racers were able to climb the Lights Out mountain at SGMP for the first time in 2025. Brad Edwards, Rob Golobo, and Davey Hull all got to add their names to the list of legends who’ve won Lights Out.

So, when you look at this photo recap of Lights Out 16, try to imagine all the emotions that went into these images. Each picture represents a special point in time for numerous people at an extraordinary event.
