Four Eyes? Contacts? You may be wondering where all this fits into the equation of a race car but just sit back and let it all soak in. About eleven months ago we featured new life being given to Jesse Lambert’s notch back Mustang on StangTV. The Lambert name has become synonymous with drag radial racing so Jesse was stepping up his game with a Merkel built small block and twin turbos. This was quite a leap from a single turbo combination in his early days of running Real Street at Maryland International Raceway.

You still may be pondering where all the innuendos fit into the equation? Four eyes has became a name associated with the early model fox body Mustangs with four headlights. But that still leaves the contacts? Well Jesse slipped me a post it note with some hot new details on his plans for 2010 and I can say that I am excited to see him step up his game once again. The contacts will be staring you straight in the eyes out the front with a pair of Supernatural 88mm turbochargers. Helping motivate the turbos will be a new Merkel Racing Engines 540 cubic inch engine topped off with Victor Jr. cylinder heads courtesy of Curtis @ RFD.
Dave Hunt Racecraft has once again been called upon to handle the fabrication of mounting the turbos as well as an all new front suspension. All of which is helping shed precious pounds from the fox chassis to get down to a competitive weight. East coast fans can look for Jesse to be heading to MIR for drag radial as well as hitting the Cecil County Street Car Shootouts. Old Four Eyes should be very competitive with the new engine and turbochargers. Jesse would also like to send a most sincere thank you to his father Rodney. It would not be possible to be out racing without his support. We wish the entire Lambert family the best of luck in 2010!
