We here at DRAGZINE are big fans of the Titan Motorsports team. Not just because they get it done on 10.5W’s with one of the baddest combinations in all of drag racing, but they are constantly churning out some killer videos and photos of their experiences – something that we don’t see near enough of in this age of information and multimedia.
The Titan clan has delivered again with a video documenting their big breakthrough event at last weekends ADRL Speedtech U.S. Drags III in Virginia. While steadily creeping up on the performance of their Scion the last couple of seasons and finally making their long-awaited trip into the 3-second zone, Gary White and crew unleashed the little six-popper on the Extreme 10.5 field in Virginia. They managed four laps down the track under 4 seconds to grab the second qualifying position and proceeded to ride that momentum all the way to victory lane on Saturday afternoon.
White kicked off the weekend with a 4.008 in the opening session, and then during the last round of qualifying on Saturday morning, nailed a stout 3.968 that was bested only by Chuck Ulsch. The first round of eliminations netted a great 3.999 at 185 miles per hour. Team Titan then stepped up their game in the semifinals, with a stellar 3.956 before grabbing the trophy and the winners check in the final with their best run to date, a 3.952 at 186 miles per hour. Not that White is a new player in Extreme 10.5 by any stretch, but in these days of 3-second performances, they are definitely back in the game.
