NMCA: Complete same day coverage on StreetMuscleMag. Competitors on the NMCA trail visited beautiful Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, PA for the second stop on their 2010 schedule. Joe Dunne won Scorpion Performance Pro Street in an all Musi-powered final over Vinny Demieri, and Kevin Parent won in Nostalgia Pro Street when new record holder David Beeson broke.
NHRA: LE Tonglet won his first NHRA Wally in Pro Stock Motorcycle at Joliet, Matt Hagan put the stops on Robert Hight’s three-race winning streak in Funny Car, while Larry Dixon and Mike Edwards continued their tear on their respective categories. NHRA JEG’S Allstars: The annual special event showcasing the stars of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series was again contested in conjunction with the Route 66 Nationals in Joliet, where the Northeast Division 1 reclaimed the overall team title for the third title in the last four years with wins from Frank Manzo, Joe Santangelo, and Jason Kenny. IHRA Division 1: The IHRA Division 1 competitors visited Richmond Dragway in Richmond VA for two-day affair. Saturdays action saw Kenny Young take the Top Dragster title over Jason Hoff, and Bob Phillips rout Don Rudd for the Top Sportsman trophy. On Sunday, John Dustin took down Jeff Martin to win Quick Rod, and Bryan Worner defeat Mark Alvey in a close Super Stock final. Event results are located on both IHRA.com and Drag Race Central.
WCHRA: The West Coast Hot Rod Association rolled into Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, Ca for the SCE Gaskets Summer Nationals. Randy Walker won the headliner Pro Street category with a holeshot defeat of Rod Burbage, 6.22 to 6.11, and Rich Zehring claimed the Outlaw 10.5 title.
