At a recent Pro Modified event held at the Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, OK, Midwest doorslammer regular Eddie Rogers put his wicked 2006 ZO6 Corvette in the record books as he clicked off a 3.84 at 193 mph on the eighth mile course. This stellar effort gives Rogers and his team the distinction of being the quickest roots blown, converter-driven doorslammer in the land. Rogers parlayed that performance into a final round showing, but a bursted intake manifold ended his hopes as Bubba Stanton cruised to victory.
What many outside of Midwest Pro Modified circles may not be keen to is that Rogers’ Corvette is tuned by a female crew chief: his step daughter Amanda Werdehausen. The record numbers speak loud and clear of her talents behind the wrench, and while we can’t say with complete certainty that she is the only female Pro Modified crew chief, she’s certainly the quickest and fastest.

Cars in Seymour, Missouri, Amanda spent some time in the offseason in Qatar and Bahrain turning the wrenches on a Pro Modified or two and actually tuned a native Top Sportsman racer to the points championship and a personal best elapsed time in the Qatar series. Along with that, we understand that Amanda has been in discussions with Sheikh Khalid Al Thani and the Al-Anabi team in regards to her tuning talents.
