Longtime Pro Modified and Super Chevy Nitro Coupe racer Doug Winters has once again partnered with Lucas Oil for the 2012 racing season, and in the process, has added MAVTV to the mix as a new marketing partner on the Winters Racing ’57 Chevy. Winters’ classic Tri-Five racer will feature a brand paint scheme for the new year, and is currently at the Motorsports Design facility in High Point, North Carolina receiving its coats of red and white paint.
“We are excited about having Lucas Oil as a partner once again in 2012. And with MAVTV coming on board, we are sure to make a big statement,” stated Doug.
This continued backing from the folks at Lucas Oil and the addition of MAVTV will allow Winters Racing to compete in the Pro Modified division in the ADRL; a series that Winters has previously competed in in the Pro Extreme category. Winters and the Lucas Oil MAVTV ’57 Chevy will make their ADRL season debut April 20-12 at the Bristol Dragway for the ADRL Spring Drags III.
“We are really happy that ADRL made Pro Modified a category. We use to compete in the Pro Extreme class so we know what to expect. The ADRL is a great place to compete and promote our sponsor’s products and services.”
In addition to the ADRL schedule, Winters has his sights set on entering select NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Series events. . “Yes, it is a goal. It is something that we have wanted to do for a long time. We are targeting to have things in place to run the 4-Wide race at Charlotte in April. If that doesn’t happen, perhaps we will make a couple of events later in the year. We will know more in the coming weeks.”
