UPDATE:
Here’s a sneak peek look at Anderson’s beautiful new Summit Racing Camaro out of the paint booth and receiving the final touches. If there were ever a body that demands the discontinuation of hood scoops, this is the one.
EARLIER:
Summit Racing team drivers Greg Anderson and Jason Line took advantage of an open weekend in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series schedule to visit their sponsors’ McDonough, Ga. headquarters for Saturday’s Super Summit 2012 open house, where the pair of Pro Stock stars not only signed autographs and spent time with fans, but publicly unveiled the paint schemes that will adorn their new 2012 Chevrolet Camaros that are expected to debut later this season.
Anderson, a four-time Pro Stock champion, and Line, the reigning and two-time class champion, have traditionally fielded identically-painted race cars, but that twill all change when the Camaros hit the track, as Anderson will wheel the red Summit Racing machine, while Line pilots the blue team car.
“I’m excited by our move to the Camaros,” said Line. “For the first time in my Pro Stock career I’ll finally be driving a real muscle car, and I think the fans are really going like our new look, which is completely different from anything else we have ever run. It’s going to be fun to reveal the paint schemes to everyone as part of Super Summit this weekend, and even better when we get our Summit Racing Camaros out on the racetrack.”
Anderson is already off to a strong start to begin the season, advancing to the final round at four of the five events and capturing his second win of the season last weekend at his home track in Concord at the Four-Wide Nationals.
