Moser Engineering, one of the staunchest supporters of sportsman and grassroots drag racing in the industry, has announced the continuation of the DRAW/RFC Super Eliminator Shootouts at all 2012 NHRA North Central Division (Division 3) Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events and the 8th annual NHRA JEG’S Northern SPORTSNationals in Columbus, Oh.
The popular bonus races-within-a-race are contested in Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street. The top eight or sixteen qualifiers who run closest to the 8.90, 9.90, or 10.90 index during qualifying and who have entered the shootouts prior to time trials/qualifying will advance to the shootout eliminations. Entry for the shootouts is $20 and remains optional. The purse in each eliminator will again be based on the number of entries in the category, with 40% going to the winner, 20% to the runner-up, and 10% to each of the semi-finalists. The remaining 20% is donated evenly between DRAW (the Drag racers Association of Women) and RFC (Racers For Christ).
Over the past several seasons, the Super Eliminator Shootouts at North Central Division races have raised thousands of dollars for these two distinguished organizations.
In addition to the standalone Super Eliminator Shootout events, NHRA North Central Division races this season will also feature qualifying for the NHRA Moser Engineering Sportsman Shootout, which will consist of a divisional points series that will qualify racers for a special head-to-head runoff for competitors in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Dragster, and Top Sportsman at the JEG’S NHRA Northern SPORTSNationals.
